To the left, the left, the left, the left…
I’ve photographed enough wedding receptions that I’ve learned the Cupid Shuffle just by watching. Now, it’s going to be hard to resist the urge to hop onto the dance floor and join in on the fun.
Last night’s reception was probably the funnest one I’ve been to. Towards the end of the night, the DJ played a song that prompted everyone, and I mean everyone, to grab their napkin and hit the dance floor. They strutted around in a circle, waving the purple-colored cloths over their heads with such pizazz, I was left standing at the edge of the floor just watching. My camera hung from my shoulder while I stood wide-eyed and dumbfounded. The music that was playing was like nothing I’d ever heard before (I loved it!) and the energy in the room was almost overwhelming, but I finally climbed onto a chair and began snapping photos. edit — I forgot to mention that the groom and a good number of the guests were from New Orleans.
